The Rolex Seadweller Deepsea (116660)

Posted in Watches by AlvinAllistar on 11 juli 2011

Ive been thinking a long time for this watch..

Too big, too heavy.. just too much..
Last week i had the opportunity to try it on for i think the 9th time. I decided to throw myself in to the deep.. literally!

This Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea(44mm) is the superlative version of the existing Sea-Dweller and, according to specifications, can go to a depth of 3,900 meters. The ‘normal’ Sea-Dweller can go to a depth of 1220 meters. To reach this kind of depth with damaging the watch, Rolex designed a so-called ring-lock system. The crystal is domed, like the plexi crystal of the vintage Sea-Dwellers.

The Sea-Dweller DEEPSEA is equipped with the tried and tested Rolex Calibre 3135 movement, known for its chronometric precision, its reliability and its robustness; it also features a PARACHROM hairspring with high resistance to shocks and magnetic fields. Each Sea-Dweller DEEPSEA is certified as a chronometer by the COSC. The movement has a 48-hour power reserve.

I think i’m already used to this big watch.. yeah its pretty amazing!

Let the pics speak for themselves

And here it is compared to his little brother the seadweller (16600) Seadweller vs Deepsea
